A: Anyone who wishes to have a say in who will get the bounty of their estate should have a Last Will and Testament.  In the State of Washington, if you do not have a Last Will and Testament at the time of your death, your estate will be distributed according to State Law rather than according to your wishes.  By preparing an estate plan, you can be secure in knowing that your estate will be distributed to those individuals who you want it to to be distributed to.

A: The quickest way to contact me is to call my office at (360) 750-3789.  The policy at my office is to return phone calls within 24 hours of receiving them.  Alternatively, you can always send an e-mail.  E-mail is read every day, several times a day.

A: Yes, I take on most divorce cases and some custody cases after reviewing them first.

A: Yes.  It is a very good idea to have these documents in place before you become ill or incompetent.  If you wait to prepare them, it might very well be too late.  A living will allows you tell your doctor how you wish to be treated, and a medical power of attorney allows you to appoint someone to make your wishes known or make healthcare decisions for you if you are unable to do so yourself.

A: They have many of the rights of married persons including hospital visitation, child custody, inheritance, etc. These do not include rights given by Federal law, such as federal income tax filing for married couples, Social Secutirit benefits for married couples, etc. Howewer, it is always a good idea to have will, power of attorney, and medical power of attorney whether you are married, a registered or non-registered domestic partner, or a single person.
A: It depends upon the services you require. Kirsten will guide you through this as a matter of course.
